2. What Information We Collect
We collect the minimum information required to operate the app:
- Account users: email address and hashed password (we never store plain-text passwords)
- Guest users: an anonymous device fingerprint (a non-identifiable string derived from your device model) to enforce the free usage limit
- Feedback sends: feedback type, delivery method, and timestamp — but never the recipient's full contact details beyond what's needed to deliver the message
- Payment information: processed entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card details
3. How We Use Your Information
- To deliver anonymous feedback messages via SMS (Twilio) or Email (SendGrid)
- To enforce free usage limits and manage Premium subscriptions
- To maintain the security and integrity of the service
- We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties — ever
4. Anonymity of Senders
FreshNote is designed so that recipients cannot identify who sent them a message. We do not include any sender-identifying information in the messages delivered. We do not share sender identity with recipients under any circumstances, except where required by law.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following trusted third-party services to operate FreshNote:
- Twilio — SMS delivery (Privacy Policy)
- SendGrid (Twilio) — Email delivery (Privacy Policy)
- Stripe — Payment processing (Privacy Policy)
- Microsoft Azure — Cloud hosting (Privacy Policy)
6. Data Retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Feedback send records are retained for operational and abuse-prevention purposes for up to 12 months. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing [email protected].
7. Your Rights (PIPEDA — Canada)
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent for data processing (which may require account closure)

8. Children's Privacy
FreshNote is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
